Moist and soft chocolate apple cake with nuts
This chocolate apple nut cake is the kind of cake that, after one bite, you'll want to eat the whole cake in one sitting. Once you've baked this cake once, you'll soon realise how it's going to be on your list of favourite cakes in no time, no doubt about it! The cake is not only moist and soft, but also very chocolatey, with an aroma that will enchant everyone in the house. If you want to enjoy the cake while it's still warm, serve it with ice cream or whipped cream. Either way, whether the cake is warm or cool, it tastes perfect!


    • flour: 225 grams
    • Butter: 200 grams
    • dark chocolate: 200 grams
    • sugar: 160 grams
    • eggs: 4
    • Cinnamon: one third of a teaspoon
    • vanilla sugar: 1 teaspoon (or vanilla extract)
    • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
    • salt: pinch

    • 3 apples (medium size).

  1. 1. First melt the butter in a saucepan over low heat, then add the chopped chocolate, stir until the chocolate melts and remove from the heat. Leave to cool.

  5. 4. In another bowl, whisk the eggs with the sugar and vanilla sugar until white. Beat with a mixer for about 5 minutes. Then add the flour and beat with the mixer until no lumps remain. Stir the chocolate and butter mixture into the batter.
  6. 5. Grease a baking tray with butter. I used a round, collapsible baking tray with a diameter of 24 centimetres. Pour the batter into the baking tin.
  7. 6. Then peel and slice the apples and arrange them on the cake. Sprinkle with walnuts and brown sugar.
  8. 7. Bake the cake in the preheated oven for about 45-55 minutes, until the inside of the cake is cooked through. Check whether the cake is baked with a wooden skewer - if the skewer is clean (not stuck) when you take it out, then the cake is baked, if not, then bake it a little longer.
